Entering August, local high temperatures have continued across the country, and many regions have increased their deployment of power supply guarantees. Recently,the Datang Chongqing Tongliang 100MW/200MWh centralized energy storage power station project supplied by Hithium has been completed and connected to the grid,and is running efficiently and reliably. Hithihum provides a strong guarantee for summer peak power consumption in Tongliang, Chongqing. From the entry of a full set of energy storage products and equiment, organizing and commissioning to grid-connected operation, Hithium has set a "new speed" in the industry for 35-day delivery of a 100MW large-scale storage power station.


Full-capacity grid-connected commissioning,  ensuring summer supply to meet the “peak hour”

On August 5, the Chongqing Tongliang Huaiyuan 100MW/200MWh centralized energy storage power station invested and constructed by China Datang Corporation was connected to the grid and put into operation at full capacity. The project is located in Tongliang High-tech Zone on the banks of Huaiyuan River, which is one of the centralized energy storage power stations planned and laid out by Chongqing City to ensure the balance of power supply and demand in the peak summer, and also one of the demonstration application scenarios of new energy storage in Tongliang District. Hithium has provided a full set of energy storage product solutions for this project.

Huaiyuan energy storage power station project, using Hithium's distributed liquid-cooled energy storage cabinet product, has the advantages of high safety and low LCOS, etc. It consists of 564 distributed liquid-cooled energy storage cabinets, which can be fully charged or discharged 200,000kwh in 2 hours under the maximum power, as if a “super power bank” has been installed in the power grid, storing electricity during low consumption times and releasing it back into the grid during peak consumption times. According to the estimation, under the full power state, the energy storage power station can satisfy the electricity demand of about 40,000 ordinary households for one day or provide more than 200 large-scale enterprises in the industrial park with reliable electricity for nearly 4 hours in the afternoon peak and evening peak.


In recent years, the contradiction between the supply and demand of electricity in Chongqing during the peak summer season has been particularly prominent, and the peak summer electricity load continues to climb. It is urgent to build a new type of power system. The commissioning of the project effectively strengthens the energy storage capacity of the grid-side energy storage project in Chongqing, which can effectively enhance the flexibility and stability of the power grid system in Chongqing, and provide various services such as peak and frequency regulation, standby, demand response support for the operation of the power grid. Through storing electricity during low consumption times and releasing it back into the grid during peak consumption times, it can effectively balance the supply and demand relationship of electricity, improve the autonomous and controllable ability in power supply and new energy consumption level of the power grid, reduce the peak load of the power system, ensure the stable operation of the power system, and provide more stable and reliable power guarantee for the industrial development in Tongliang District. 


Customer-centered, high-quality delivery in “new speed”

This project is put into production with a tight schedule and heavy tasks. In a extreme supply time and construction period, the Hithium team has adhered to being customer-centered and fully participated in project construction throughout the process. Under high temperatures, rainy seasons, and other challenges, Hithium maintained close cooperation with the customer to ensure supply and delivery tasks with high quality. From providing a full set of energy storage products and equiment to the site, organizing and commissioning to grid-connected operation, Hithium has set a "new speed" in the industry for 35-day delivery of a 100MW large-scale storage power station. 


Creating energy storage application scenarios and boosting the development of energy storage industry in Tongliang

Hithium has always focused on energy storage ecology to contribute to energy security. At present, under the promotion of Tongliang District Party Committee and District Government, Hithium has joined hands with partners in Tongliang to implement the construction of grid-side stand-alone energy storage power stations, distributed energy projects, energy storage charging stations and other PV and storage application scenarios, and has already completed the construction of Huaiyuan Stand-alone Energy Storage Power Station, Yuquan “Photovoltaic Power Generation, Energy Storage, Charging, Testing and Swapping” Integrated Station, Qinglan Industrial “Photovoltaic Energy Storage Integration Project” and other PV and storage application scenarios. In the future, Hithium will continue to work hand in hand with partners in Tongliang to create more energy storage application scenarios and help to accelerate the construction of Tongliang into a new energy storage industry highland in western China.
