September 11, 2025, Madrid, Spain — HiTHIUM, a leading global company in energy storage technology, announced the deployment of energy storage systems with a total capacity of 500MWh in Victoria, Australia for FRV - Fotowatio Renewable Ventures, a leading developer of sustainable energy solutions. The Gnarwarre BESS project is set to deliver significant local benefits, such as optimized grid management, improved load regulation, and enhanced continuity and stability of power supply—particularly during periods of high renewable energy variability.

The project, located in Gnarwarre, will deploy 112 units of HiTHIUM’s ∞Block 5MWh BESS, integrated with SMA Power Conversion Systems (PCS). HiTHIUM will also provide commissioning services and a Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA) to ensure full lifecycle support. The system is designed to deliver a wide range of grid services, including energy arbitrage, frequency control ancillary services (FCAS), fast frequency response (FFR), and system restart ancillary services. It is also expected to play a role in future capacity market mechanisms.

As part of the collaboration, HiTHIUM will provide technical training to FRV, authorizing the company as a certified service provider. FRV, an established independent power producer with operations across Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, is expanding its portfolio of standalone and hybrid storage projects.

“We are proud to partner with FRV to deploy our cutting-edge energy storage technology in Victoria,” said Dr. Qi Tang, President of HiTHIUM Europe & Australasia. “This collaboration represents a major milestone in accelerating the adoption of clean energy and reinforces our commitment to supporting FRV’s mission to build a smarter, more sustainable energy future.”

“We are pleased to partner with HiTHIUM on this important project and look forward to seeing their technology in operation, delivering real benefits to the grid and local communities,” said Carlo Frigerio, CEO, FRV Australia

This agreement marks HiTHIUM’s first collaboration with FRV and builds on the company’s growing presence in Australia, where it has over 2.5GWh of energy storage capacity currently under delivery, supported by long-term service agreements managed by HiTHIUM’s dedicated Australian team. The partnership follows FRV's achievement of financial close for the project in August 2025.

According to InfoLink Consulting’s global energy storage supply chain database, worldwide shipments of energy storage cells reached 240.21GWh in the first half of 2025, representing a 106% year-on-year increase. HiTHIUM is the only top-tier battery manufacturer solely focused on energy storage. The company recently surpassed 100GWh in global cumulative shipments, ranking in the top two worldwide for both overall and utility-scale energy storage battery deliveries.
